Financial performance of Bondora Group

2019 was Bondora’s third consecutive year of profitability. We’re proud to report that Bondora made a net profit of €2.3M in 2019 – a 2,184% increase on the previous year. Our revenue also increased by 96% to €20.3M. The driving force behind this outstanding success was the advancements in product development, increased marketing activity, and the continued growth and support of our community. More than 700 000 people have borrowed over €386.6M since 2008 to make their dreams come true. You can too!

In 2018 Bondora sustained rapid growth. Bondora Group’s revenues were €10,311,268 in 2018 and ended the financial year with a profit. Revenue increased by 51% driven by sustainable growth in issued loans that itself were supported by product development and marketing improvements aimed at retail investors. Loans issued reached €60.8 million, a 74% increase over the previous financial year.

We believe this is a result of creating a platform where everyone can find value, our borrowers have access to affordable loans and investors earn a return within an evolving business model.

In comparison, in 2017 Bondora Group’s revenues were €6,850,500 and the financial year ended with a net profit of €137,000 driven by a significant increase in turnover and cost-effectiveness achieved through the optimization of its operations.

In 2016, Bondora Group’s revenues were €4,176,903 and its net loss was €1,443,847. In 2015, revenues were €2,464,849 and the net loss was €1,852,783 where Bondora Group’s loss was mainly attributed to considerable growth in personnel and marketing expenses.

The Group is focused on maintaining its growth, and keeping investing as the focal point of Bondora’s product offering, but we are exploring new opportunities to serve our rapidly growing customer base.

In 2020, we expect our revenue to remain largely on par with 2019 and profits to be around the €1M mark, in spite of the difficult circumstances this year has brought. Our core focus is to maintain and improve portfolio quality. In combination with this, we will continue to invest in our existing products and expand the product line.
